Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Wave Products is looking for experienced and talented designers/sewers to jump into our production department and help us design and crank out our indestructible bags. The Designer will design, cut, arrange, and sew patterns and shapes into finished products that we will sell on our website or B2B channels. This person will wear a couple different hats on a daily basis. One day you’ll spend all day designing, the next day you’ll spend all day sewing and the day after that you’ll be making leather patches on a laser cutter.
We are looking for doers, people who aren’t afraid to dive in and take our bags from pattern to production. We are consistently releasing new, innovative designs all the time so we will always have something for you to work on. This will be a role where you won’t have time to be bored and will always be having fun. In addition to honing your bag design and sewing skills, this is a great opportunity to establish yourself at a growing company.
Duties
- Designing bags for sale on our website & B2B Sales
- Using a laser cutter to arrange and cut patterns & make custom leather labels
- Sew patterns into finished products using an industrial sewing machine
- Put bags into production to be made efficiently in bulk
- Make bags in bulk
- Industrial design experience
- Bag Design/Assembly Experience
- Sewing experience, bags, or heavy material preferred
- Must have basic competency with industrial sewing machines and cut & sew processes
- Must be able to follow patterns and sew continuously with minimal oversight
- Willingness to learn and be flexible
- Be a team player, easy to work with
- Be okay working around a dog & cat
- Sewing Machine Troubleshooting
- Laser cutter knowledge
- Involved in the outdoor industry (ski, bike, climb etc)
- Pour over coffee pro
